Web-Based Training for Grants Managers

Project Description

Challenge: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) manages thousands of grant and contract portfolios each year. With each institute and center utilizing a variety of processes for implementing grant policies and regulations, our challenge was to find a way to harmonize training across the NIH and deliver that training electronically to help grants managers be more effective.

Strategic Solution: We worked closely with the Grants Management University, a subgroup of the NIH Grants Management Advisory Council (GMAC), to develop a single NIH-wide curriculum and several e-learning modules to educate grants managers and streamline the grants management process.

Impact: The e-learning modules provide a fun way to disseminate information to all grants management specialists at NIH and improve the efficiency and consistency of the entire grants process.
