The contract will support the development of a new strategic plan to increase workforce diversity and accelerate scientific breakthroughs

 

 

ROCKVILLE, MD; April 10, 2020 Ripple Effect® has been selected to provide programmatic support to the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) Office of the Director and the Genomic Workforce Diversity Working Group in the development of the upcoming Diversity in the Genomic Workforce strategic plan 

NHGRI has launched a new round of strategic planning that will establish a 2020 vision for genomics aimed at accelerating scientific and medical breakthroughs. In developing NHGRI’s 2020 strategic plan, the NHGRI Director has established a Working Group to create a plan to increase diversity in the genomic workforce. 

This short-term contract exemplifies the kind of mission-support tasks that our Program and Policy Division excels at,” said Dr. Jessica Escobedo, Ripple Effect’s Director of Science Policy. Ripple Effect’s subject matter expertise in the biomedical research workforce and experience in getting up to speed quickly on ongoing projects will allow us to provide critical support for NHGRI in achieving this strategic goal on time. 

Valued at $81,500, the Genomic Diversity Strategic Plan contract supports NHGRI’s mission to be at the forefront of increasing genomic workforce diversity in the next 10 years. This project has been funded in whole or in part with Federal funds from the NIAID, NIH, Department of Health and Human Services, under Contract No. GS-10F-0365T.
