Hiring Our Heroes
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) initiative launched in March 2011 as a nationwide effort to connect veterans, service members, and military spouses with meaningful employment opportunities. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, our goal is to create a movement across America in hundreds of communities where veterans and military families return every day.
Military Spouse Fellowship Program
The Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Fellowship Program (MSFP) provides military spouses with professional training, networking, and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce. The professional development and direct connection to local employers offered through the program enable military spouses to quickly build their networks and gain localized job experience. Military Skills Translator
Service members have a wealth of valuable knowledge and skills that they’ve acquired, but sometimes it can be hard to translate those skills to the civilian workforce. Check out the Military Skills Translator from Military.com—it matches a veteran’s military occupation code (MOS, AFSC, and Rating), sub-specialties and other professional military skills to civilian job opportunities.
People with disabilities are a vastly under-employed and untapped resource of talent and adaptability. At Ripple Effect, our work culture welcomes and supports those with disabilities, from our accessible, universal design office space to flexible work arrangements and awareness campaigns to eliminate stigmas.
A Truly Flexible
Lots of companies say that they offer flexible work, at Ripple Effect, we really mean it!
We hire individuals to work in a variety of capacities – from full-time to part-time to on-call -and we provide maximum flexibility for work hours so employees can work when they’re most productive – during the day and during the month.
At Ripple Effect, we offer flexible options ranging from part-time on-call to part-time regular to full-time reduced. Part of Ripple Effect’s philosophy of working smarter and performing better is being open to when and where Ripplers do their best work. We have some staff that work at a reduced schedule of 75-80% time, many that work outside of a traditional 9 to 5 schedule, and still others taking advantage of our remote work options.
Just because a job is posted as “full-time”, it can still be flexible. Please ask your recruiter!
For full-time employees who meet the requirements to decline medical coverage, we offer a semi-monthly fringe benefit disbursed in every paycheck. End-of-year bonuses can be redeemed in cash, PTO, or 401(k) contributions, and holiday leave can be rolled over and applied at later dates within the year. Career paths are measurable and customizable, to give employees control over their professional journey and their passions.
