Challenge: The Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network (LAN), a public-private partnership through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the MITRE Corporation, is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) charged with identifying barriers and solutions for implementing alternative payment models in the health care community. Our challenge was to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the new network, working with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Solution: We designed and executed a print, digital, and interactive communications campaign for the LAN, which continues to evolve. We spearheaded a website redesign, managed a membership database, produced bi-weekly e-newsletters, hosted a webinar series, planned two large annual meetings, collected public comments and drafted several white papers, cultivated social media followers, developed infographics, and conducted media outreach.
Impact: To date, the LAN has engaged more than 6,500 participants in the health care community, helping to shape the future of health care payment reform.
