Tracking Career Outcomes
of Aging and Alzheimer’s
Research Professionals
To determine whether its investments in early-career researchers are advancing the field, a federal health agency partnered with Ripple Effect to assess outcomes across a portfolio of career development awards. The goal: understand grantee progress, field impact, and alignment with strategic research priorities.
Our Goal
Evaluate the effectiveness and long-term impact of career development awards in aging and Alzheimer’s research through comprehensive data analysis and qualitative research.
Our Path to Success
Ripple Effect designed and implemented a mixed-methods evaluation of up to 15 career development award mechanisms in aging and Alzheimer’s research. This included collecting and analyzing data on applicants and awardees, integrating metrics from multiple sources, and conducting interviews to capture deeper insight into awardee trajectories and influence. The project culminated in a summary report with findings and actionable recommendations to inform future program strategy.
