Translating Research
into Action for
Indigenous Alcohol
Intervention Knowledge
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) sought expert support for the NativeAIR project, an extensive literature review aimed at informing interventions for alcohol use disorder in American Indian, Alaska Native, and other Indigenous communities. The project culminated in a public website to give communities easy-access to research-based information and support communities in identifying interventions that will work best for their needs.
Our Goal
Develop content for a user-friendly website to help Indigenous communities identify and select evidence-based interventions that prevent and address alcohol-related problems.
Our Path to Success
Ripple Effect developed tailored intervention packets and summaries of evidence-based approaches, contributing research expertise and clear, accessible content for public dissemination. We also collaborated on the development of the NIAAA website to house these resources.
