Challenge: The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) was interested in creating online tools to better educate individuals interested in participating in research. Our challenge was to design a communications vehicle to deliver key information in a concise way to the general public.
Strategic Solution: We developed an animated video series and brochure to provide basic information about scientific research, types of clinical trials, and types of questions a participant might ask before deciding to participate in human research.
Impact: Our video has been broadly disseminated by OHRP and a number of federal partners, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on its website, ClinicalTrials.gov.
